A bed in the office? The bed floats above the work space and it's easily removable. Believe it or not, it's firm. And it's suspended on massive steel girders that used to be used for moving Welmar pianos around. It's also extraordinarily comfortable (it's the mattress) and a bit like a secret hideaway. Sudden guests aren't a problem. But more than that it opens up the entire floorspace below for use as your office. A double staircase, with storage underneath, offers easy access to both sides of the bed. And there's more storage all around the bed with cupboards and shelves for books, DVDs or whatever. There's also a massive built in cupboard for storing all those files and things you don't want anyone to see. It's been used as a studio and a counselling room. It's definitely not the sort of thing you'll come across every day.
